Yongjung  (Jay) Kim,  M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and an Assistant Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Kim also serves as the Chief, Spinal Deformity Surgery for Columbia Orthopaedics.

Dr. Kim completed a two-year Spine/Scoliosis fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in 2008. Dr. Kim, a prolific writer and researcher, was a Research Scholar for six years at Washington University School of Medicine Spinal deformity Service from 2000-2006.

Dr. Kim has won numerous honors and awards from the Scoliosis Research Society and Cervical Spine Research Society, has written over 60 peer-reviewed publications and co-authored thirteen book chapters. Dr. Kim has made over 130 presentations at national and international meetings and has been guest lecturer in Scotland, Greece, Germany, France, Spain, United States, and Korea.

Dr. Kim received his medical degree from Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea in 1985. He completed his orthopaedic residency in 1994 followed by a Spine Fellowship (adult and pediatric) in 1995, both at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea, and AO fellowship in 1995 at Innsbruke Hospital, Austria. Before moving to the United States in 2000, Dr. Kim served as an Assistant Professor and Chief of Spine Service at Bundang CHA Hospital, Pochun JoongMoon University, Sungnam City, South Korea.
