Dr. Mark Weidenbaum is Director of Orthopedic Spine Surgery at Milstein
Hospital, located at the Columbia Presbyterian campus of NewYork-Presbyterian
Hospital. Dr. Weidenbaum is an Associate Professor of Clinicial Orthopedic Surgery
at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has
been a faculty member at Columbia since completing his Fellowship
in Scoliosis and Spine Surgery at Rush-Presbyterian Medical Center
in Chicago, in 1987.
His practice includes a broad range of spinal disorders in both adults
as well as children, including spinal deformity, arthritis, trauma,
tumors, instability, and degenerative conditions. His surgical procedures
range from minimally invasive and microsurgical approaches to complex
spinal reconstructions. He is active in basic science as well as in
clinical research, and he holds leadership roles in national and international
spine surgery organizations. He is particularly interested in spinal
deformity and degeneration, traveling regularly to participate in
scientific exchanges as well as in care for patients with challenging
conditions. His busy wife, Lisa Berke, is a family nurse practitioner.
Together, they share three terrific daughters.
