Welcome to the Center for Hip & Knee Replacement (CHKR) at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University. At the CHKR, we take a comprehensive approach to arthritis care in the hip and knee. When appropriate, a conservative approach is recommended to the patient and we formulate an individualized treatment plan for each person. Should these modalities fail to provide adequate pain relief and restore an acceptable level of function, the doctors of the CHKR are experts in the latest and most advanced operative treatments for arthritis. These include some of the most minimally invasive techniques taking care to protect and preserve as much of the patients natural anatomy as possible. Whatever the problem, it is our goal to provide each and every patient with the best long-term outcome possible. We guide each patient through the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation stages of their treatment with education, support and a well-rounded team approach.
