Columbia Orthopedics Faculty Inducted into Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE)

Columbia Orthopedics faculty William Levine, MD, Frank E. Stinchfield Professor and Chairman; Melvin Rosenwasser, MD, Robert E. Carroll Professor of Hand Surgery; David Roye, MD, St. Giles Professor of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery; Robert Strauch, MD, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery; Michael Vitale, MD, MPH, Ana Lucia Professor of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery; and Mark Weidenbaum, MD, Professor of Orthopedic Surgery were inducted into Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeon’s Academy of Clinical Excellence’s inaugural class alongside 118 of their colleagues. The induction ceremony took place May 11, 2017 and included a keynote speech by Kenneth A. Forde, MD, Jose. M. Ferrer Professor Emeritus of Clinical Surgery.

The Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE) was established to recognize faculty for their contribution to the College of Physicians and Surgeons’ Academic Mission through excellence in clinical care. ACE hopes to promote outstanding clinical care by recognizing deserving faculty and establishing them as models for the Columbia University P&S community.

“Our medical center has always prized teaching our residents and students to provide the highest level of patient care,” said Dr. Rosenwasser. “It is an honor to be a part of this initial group being recognized for clinical excellence in teaching.”
