Dr. Francis Y. Lee, Professor with Tenure and Vice Chair of Research, has been reelected to serve on the Columbia University Senate as a tenured faculty member. This is his second term as a senate member. The Columbia Senate is a University-wide legislature that represents faculty, students and other constituencies. The Senate passes policy on a wide range of issues that affect the entire University. Dr. Lee is a Chair for the Research policy and External Relations Committee and a member of the Columbia University Budget Review Committee. Dr. Lee is a musculoskeletal tumor and pediatric orthopaedic surgeon. He is initialing personalized medicine using genomic studies in the field of musculoskeletal oncology. As a NIH-funded researcher, he analyzes current clinical challenges through translational research programs.
