Columbia University’s Tumor & Bone disease service benefits from the experience and expertise of Dr. Francis Y. Lee.
The team treats bone tumors, soft tissue tumors, genetic bone disease, cartilage disorders, metabolic bone disease, and infection in children and adults.
The Tumor and Bone Disease Service also treats limb length discrepancy, deformities, and post-traumatic complications such as nonunion and painful joints in both children and adult using complex surgical reconstruction techniques and CT-guided radiofrequency ablation. Limb may be reconstructed using various modalities of allograft cartilage transplantation, bone allografts, specially designed expanding tumor prosthesis for growing children, and tumor prosthesis for adults in both upper and lower extremities.
The service includes a patient-oriented interdisciplinary team for imaging, pathology, cytologenetic study, molecular pathology, rehabilitation, and follow-up plans, as well as state-of-the-art surgical facilities. Both pediatric and adult medical oncology services are actively involved in chemotherapy and other supportive medical care.
