Sports Medicine Fellow

Mike Danaher, MD

Residency: University of Vermont

Dr. Danaher completed his undergraduate at Binghamton University he majored in biology and graduated with honors. He was a Division I catcher for Bingham’s Baseball team. He was Chi Alpha Sigma Student Athlete Honor Society, Team Captain and nominated for the Johnny Bench Award as one of the top Division I catchers in the country. He attended SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse and was awarded the John B. and Henrietta E. Simone Scholarship.  At UVM Mike was nominated for the Larner College of Medicine Clinical Resident of the Year award. Prior to Medical School, Mike was a high school science teacher. His current and ongoing research projects include: integrating robotic assisted arthroplasty into orthopedic resident education, from the trainees perspective, and anatomical radiographic assessments of the skeletally immature knee.


Shoulder and Elbow Fellow

Matt LeVasseur, MD

Residency: University of Connecticut

Dr. LeVassuer completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude and was Phi Beta Kappa. He matriculated to SUNY Upstate Medical School in Syracuse and was AOA.  Additionally, he was the recipient of the Excellence in Anatomical Sciences Award at SUNY Upstate, by the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology for outstanding academic achievement. Matt was selected as the Resident and Fellow Forum Representative at the University of Connecticut. Matt was  also chosen to complete a  research fellowship  at the UConn Musculoskeletal Institute.  During that fellowship he worked on funded projects focusing on the design and execution of clinical outcomes, biomechanics, and biologics research and successfully obtained grants from both the Greater Hartford  Orthopedic Education and Research foundation and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
