The world-renowned physicians and surgeons in our Orthopedic Trauma service represent a wide range of orthopedic specialties. So no matter what the injury, the specialists in our service are available to immediately determine the best treatment for every patient's specific injury. Our highly trained pediatric and adult trauma specialists aim to prevent chronic pain or deformity, restore function, and, ultimately return patients normal activities.
Since our program was established in 1945 with the merger of the Presbyterian Hospital Fracture Service and the New York Orthopaedic Hospital, our team of experts has been a leader in the field of orthopedic trauma.
Patients with acute injuries come to our service through the emergency departments of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital network, or are referred to our service after being stabilized at other medical facilities.
Our goal is to immediately determine the best treatment for each specific injury in order to prevent deformity and chronic pain, restore function, and return patients to normal activity as soon as possible.
When caring for patients with traumatic injuries to their bones, joints, muscles, and soft tissues, we leverage the latest advances in diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical technology. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to develops individualized treatment plans for each patient – whether you require specialized reconstructive surgery to repair a joint damaged in a motor vehicle accident, or splinting, casting, or bracing to heal broken wrist.
