Training Overview

Our training clases are small - only 3 students per class - and offered with the specific intent of providing intensive, individula one-on-one laboratory instruction in most common microsorgical techniques. Upon completion of the course, the participant will have to acquire the fundamental microsutrgical skills necessary to successfully dissect, resect, manipulate and repair small vascular structures or perform basic rodent surgery with sufficient confidence.

Our training courses are offered to residents, fellows and attending surgeons, allied medical professionals and research personal with the specific intent of providing intensive, individual one-on-one laboratory instruction in microsurgical and basic surgical techniques. Upon completion of the course, the participant will have acquired the fundamental microsurgical skills necessary to successfully dissect, resect, manipulate and repair small vascular structures or perform basic rodent surgery with sufficient confidence. Surgeons are also expected to develop highly refined manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and the expertise to perform with competence in difficult clinical settings.

The learning process includes use of the operating room microscope, micro-instruments, and suturing techniques and is closely monitored by the instructor who provides guidance, assistance, feedback, and skill evaluation throughout the entire course. Upon completion of all the requirements all students will receive a Certificate of Training. There is also ISCP assessments for successful UK trainees.
